This Boudoir Doll is from the mid 1930's she had seen better days. The last 30 years she had been stuffed away in a box inside of a closet. Her head was in pieces and there were chunks missing form her face. Her arms and legs were fine and still attached to the body. Her original black mohair wig was gone as were her clothes. The above photo on the left shows the places that needed filled and sanded. All of the paint and gesso was removed from the head so a smoother finish could be achieved. The photo on the right shows the completed doll's face. The paint was matched perfectly to the original on her arms and legs. The hair was replaced with black wavy mohair and a pair of pink satin pajamas completes her look. The customer was elated with the finished project and she is now displaying her once again so that she can enjoy her for many more years to come. |
